Process Post:
We had a sketchbook assignment for Graphic Design this week that was to map your travel on campus. I decided to take one of the campus maps and repurpose it I guess. After attaching it to my sketchbook, I painted it quick with acrylics, blacking out everything on the inside except the campus itself. When the paint dried, i took trace paper, then cutout the word “map” and used spray adhesive to attach it the front. This created a sweet frosted look around the word, as well as tying it into the inside.
The inside is simple. There are two layers of trace - the bottom layer shows my Monday/ Thursday schedule, and the top shows my Tuesday/ Friday schedule. The red dotted line is my commute into campus and the small black dotted line is my walk to classes.
I think that covers it all, no?
